Sloppy Joe Biscuit Rounds

Tonight for dinner I was planning on making Sloppy Joes. At the last minute I though of the idea of putting it on biscuits. A quick search on the internet and I found "Sloppy Joe Biscuit Rounds" from Pillsbury.

Go to Pillsbury.com to find the recipe, or click here.

It is a perfect Kids recipe and Ben and I enjoyed it with steamed carrots and fresh watermelon. A delicious and quick meal.

Ingredients
3/4 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup green bell pepper
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 can biscuits
1 egg yolk
1/4 teaspoon water
1/2 cup shredded cheese

DIRECTIONS

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Spray cookie sheet.
In 10-inch skillet, cook beef, onion and bell pepper over medium-high heat until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain.
Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on cookie sheet. With bottom of flat 2-inch diameter glass, press out each biscuit. In small bowl, beat egg yolk and water with fork. Brush over tops and sides of biscuits.
  • Spoon about 1/3 cup beef mixture into each biscuit. Sprinkle each biscuit with 1 tablespoon shredded cheese.
  • Bake 12 to 17 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and cheese is melted.
I followed the recipe. However, next time I make it I will probably make more of the filling, including making it more saucy.
Delicious and Simple!

WATERMELON BLISS

Welcome to my blog. In beginning this blog, I hope to share the happenings of our lives one post at a time. I chose the title "Watermelon Bliss" because I love watermelon. It is the best part about summertime.

My name is Allison. I live in a small town in central Ohio. I am married to my best friend in the entire world, we married last June and bought our home around the same time. Throughout the past year we have adjusted to living the "adult life." Both Ben and I work full time jobs and are determined to renovate our home, which was built in 1900, and needs a lot of updating. Ben works as a Little Debbie distributor and is building his photography business on the side. I work as an Intervention Specialist at the middle school level for students with moderate/intensive needs in our local school district.

My favorite hobbies include playing with our dog, crafting, camping. I enjoy antiques, DIY projects, renovating our home, cooking and baking. My favorite color is pink and I love watermelon and pizza.

Please read often. I will post recipes, pictures of our adventures and lives, renovations, and DIY projects.
